Drivers Guide

CAUTION ! REAR VIEW CAMERAS ARE A VISUAL AID , THEY DO NOT MAKE YOU ACCIDENT PROOF .

With rear view cameras, never back a vehicle using only the rear view camera, use side mirrors and watch the vehicles front and side windows.  The monitor should only been used for enhanced rear vision and never for other visual displays such as DVD viewing when vehicle is in motion.

1. Before you leave clean mirrors and the camera lens. Check the angle of mirrors, camera, and monitor and ensure reversing lights and  any  backing alarms are functioning.

2. Before reversing avoid backing where possible and minimise the distance needed to reverse. If unsure, secure the vehicle and get out to check for potential hazards. Be aware of vehicle height, width, and turning capabilities in relation to intended manoeuvres.

3. During reversing remember rear view cameras can only see directly behind the vehicle! Keep looking around using the mirrors, windows, and monitor. Always take extra care around pedestrians especially in residential areas.

4. If the system fails or deteriorates , repair as soon as possible , remember , safety is not an option !
